Texas Avenue South

Texas Avenue is composed of two parts; the larger "Texas Avenue South" and the smaller North Texas Avenue (a tiny segment north of William J. Bryan Parkway in Bryan). Texas Avenue is the Business Route (BS, or BUS) of State Highway 6 (it was once the official route, before being bypassed in 1971) and functions as the main road of Bryan-College Station, with big box stores, restaurants, gas stations, hotels, and drug stores, although even into the 1970s, there was still pasture land along the way.

Texas Avenue South is commonly known as "Texas Avenue", as it is by far the larger of the two.
