This Walgreens was built on the site of Confucius Chinese Cuisine, a popular and much-loved Chinese buffet which was built in an Asian style. Replacing an older restaurant called Jade Garden, Confucius Chinese Cuisine closed around 2001 and was demolished a few years later for a Walgreens. The Walgreens was one of the first Walgreens in town for many years, after a mall location closed years ago. Construction also displaced a pawn shop, which ended up moving back to a location right next door to its old location. [Source: Brazos Buildings & Businesses]
