6-story Romanesque-revival residential building completed in 1894. It is clad in variegated tan brick above a ground floor largely lined with various metal-and-glass storefronts, as well as some areas of rough stucco, and painted smooth stucco. The main entrance is centered on the south facade, with a glass-and-metal door, sidelights, and transom set in a grey stone surround.
The upper floors on the south facade are organized into three wings, separated by a pair of shaftways that are both fronted by arches of red brick at the top of each floor. The middle wing has a large window in the center bay; to either side is a narrower window flanked by a pair of even narrower windows. At the 2nd floor these are all round-arched, with red brick voussoirs and red stone keystones. At the floors above the windows are square-headed, but the center bay is topped by a brick round-arch at each floor. At the 5th floor the outer bays also are topped by brick round-arches. The 3rd & 6th floors have flat brick lintels above each window, and the 4th floor has round-arches over the middle window of the outer bays, but flat lintels topping the narrower side windows. A brown metal fire escape covers the center and east bays.
The east wing of the south facade has four single-windows; the western two are round-arched and topped by red-brick round-arches at the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, & 6th floors, and the 4th floor has square-headed windows topped by flat lintels with keystones. Another brown fire escape runs down the middle two windows of the wing. The west wing has two single-windows on the 2nd-5th floors, round-arched on the 2nd, 3rd & 5th floors, and square-headed on the 4th. The 6th floor has two bays of paired very narrow round-arched windows. As at the other brick arches, there are red stone imposts and keystones. Each of the wings has a corbelled band of red stone below the windows of the 4th & 6th floors, and thinner bands across the other floors. Blank parapets remain where the original roof cornices once stood. On the roof of the east wing a mechanical penthouse housing and a water tank are visible.
The west facade on the avenue has two center bays of wide single-windows, and outer bays with thin single-windows flanked by even narrower windows. The windows are all round-arched at the 2nd floor, topped by red-brick voussoirs with red stone imposts and keystones. The 3rd floor has square-headed windows in the center bays, and round-arched in the outer bays, with red-brick voussoirs and lintels. The 4th floor is reversed, with arched windows in the center bays, and square-headed in the outer bays; those in the outer bays are topped by a joined stone lintel, with a red-brick arch above the middle window. The 5th floor matches the 3rd floor, and the 6th floor has all arched windows. The same bands crossing the building are seen on this facade, and a fire escape runs down the center bays. The parapet at the roof is painted red.
The ground floor is occupied by a Chipotle restaurant, a Subway sandwiches, and Chelsea Laundry & Dry Cleaners.
