4-story Italianate residential building completed around the 1860s for John Jackson as a flat and store. It has a cast-iron storefront on the ground floor, and is clad in red brick on the upper floors. The three bays of windows have dark-red stone sills and cast-iron lintels, and a bracketed roof cornice with four console brackets and a paneled fascia board crowns the building.

The ground floor is occupied by The Mermaid Inn restaurant, which also extends into the ground floor of the building to the north.
