40 Tenth Avenue (New York City, New York) | Modern (architecture), office/offices

199-foot, 12-story futurist office building completed in 2019. Designed by Studio Gang Architects for Aurora Capital Associates and William Gottlieb Real Estate, 40 Tenth Avenue was originally nicknamed Solar Carve Tower. It was Studio Gang's first commission in New York. The building features a chiseled, diamond-shaped curtain wall.

The geometric crystalline glass curtain wall is the result of Studio Gang’s ongoing research into “solar carving” technology, which draws data from solar movement throughout the day. Facade engineers then applied that data to design a curtain wall that reduces the amount of shadow cast from the building onto the adjacent Highline Park and surrounding buildings.

A 1-story wing extends east along 13th Street, housing a Genesis showroom, and Genesis House Korean restaurant. The building's main entrance is on the north side, with recessed double-doors below a black metal canopy.
