284-foot, 22-story and 152-foot, 11-story postmodern/futurist residential buildings completed in 2021, the two buildings are separated by the High Lane park. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick Studio with interiors by March & White Design for the Related Companies, they are joined by a small 1-story entry below the High Line tracks. Landscaping was designed by Hollander Design Landscape Architects.
The most notable architectural feature is its dramatic 3-dimensional bay windows, each two stories tall, evoking the shape of a bulbous lantern, complemented by a façade of beige brick and warm bronze framing. The slender glassed-in main entrance between the two buildings has sliding glass door below the High Line, with a ribbed bronze roof that narrows and swoops upward at both ends, tying in the the 3rd floor of each tower. The first floor on the northern and southern sides of the shorter eastern portion of Lantern House is home to retail space, with the majority of the frontage along Tenth Avenue.
The south facade of the west building spans 13 bays, narrowing via a setback at each end to 10 bays. There is a parking garage entrance near the west end of the ground floor. A shorter, narrow wing extends north to 19th Street. The south facade of the shorter east building spans four bays, while the east facade along the avenue spans 13 bays across the lower three floors. The three bays at the north end terminates at the 3rd floor, with a terrace on top, while the remaining 10 bays extend up to the 11th floor. Part of the ground floor along the avenue is occupied by Cucina Alba restaurant. The complex has a total of 181 condominium units.
