apartment building, 1860s construction, Italianate style (architecture)
5-story Italianate residential building completed in 1867. Designed by John Warren Ritch and Evan Griffiths as a warehouse with a white marble facade, it is three bays wide, separated by simple Doric columns. The outer piers are rusticated. The facade is crowned by a black iron roof cornice with scrolled and foliate brackets and surmounting urns.
By 1902, the building's upper floors were occupied by small manufacturing firms. A fire escape was installed in 1914, but later removed, and an angled electric sign was installed in 1960, also now removed. The ground floor is occupied by David Z. shoes.
