6-story Romanesque-revival residential building completed in 1896. Designed by G.A. Schellinger as a store and warehouse, its ground floor has rusticated limestone piers on granite bases, with green cast-iron infill. The upper floors are clad in buff-colored brick, with stone banding on the 2nd floor, which is topped by a stone cornice. The 2nd floor has deeply recessed windows, with three sections of three bays each on Spring Street, and two sections of three bays each on Mercer Street. Above the 2nd floor, these divisions continue, culminating in round-arches with large keystones on the 5th floor. Carved terra-cotta panels are found in the spandrels between the 3rd-5th floors. The most powerful ornaments on the entire building are the massive Baroque terra-cotta cartouche forms that hang from the four large piers, extending through the entire height of the 5th floor. Above another cornice, the top floor has rounded pilasters set at the piers, with carved terra-cotta panels above the cartouches. A green metal roof cornice with an intricately-carved fascia board crowns the building on both facades. On the Mercer Street side there is a black metal fire escape running down the center. The ground floor is occupied by Burton snowboards.
