Very thin 10-story residential building with a marble facade, completed in 1903. Designed by John W. Stevens as a warehouse, it has rusticated piers at the first two floors, with a large round-arch with a keystone encompassing the 3rd floor. Two stone circles inscribed with "543" are located above the shoulders of the arch. The upper floor are divided into two pairs of windows; there are cornices above and below the 4th floor, and two round-arches with keystones on the 7th floor; the three main piers are fluted from the 5th-7th floors. The 8th floor is topped by a projecting bracketed cornice above. The rear facade on Mercer is clad in red brick, with four evenly spaced bays of windows, and a narrow black metal fire escape in the center. The ground floor is occupied by Carlo Pazolini handbags.
