 Neoclassical (architecture), apartment building, 1896_construction

7-story Neo-classical residential building completed in 1896. Designed by Cleverdon & Putzel as a store, along with its neighbors 60 & 62 Grand Street, its ground floor is divided into three bays, with a basement entrance at the right, behind an iron railing. Above the white cast-iron storefront, two rusticated brown brick piers run up either edge of the facade, framing four windows per floor, each divided by narrow, white cast-iron pilasters. In the spandrels between floors are carved terra-cotta panels. The top-floor windows are round-arched, and a projecting roof cornice caps the building. Most of the facade is covered by a white metal fire escape. The ground floor is occupied by Tamara Magel boutique.
