792-foot, 58-story modernist residential building to be completed in 2018. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and Goldstein Hill & West Architects, the building replaces a 10-story office building from 1983 that was used by St. John's University School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science. The new tower gently expands as it moves upwards culminating in a graceful, distinctive crown. It is clad in curving blue glass with rounded corners. The crown features two parapet wall curving on opposite directions and rising diagonally to points at different heights. The base of the building includes a plaza with a lawn and fountain.
