 apartment building, 1930_construction

10-story residential building completed in 1930 as a 6-story warehouse building, renovated in 2002 with four additional setback floors and converted to condominiums, briefly, before changing to a rental apartment building, and finally returning as condominiums in 2010, with 70 units.

The rather plain addition on top is setback slightly from Warren and Murray Street, and more so from Church Street on the west side. It is faced in white pre-cast concrete, with multi-paned industrial windows and quoins at the corners. The lower section was also remodeled when the building was converted to residential. It is surfaced in beige smooth-stucco, except for three large swatches on the west facade above the 2nd floor which are painted red. Quoins mark the corners as well as the divisions between bays. Most of the windows have protruding sills and lintels; the western section of the north facade has one 4-pane and one 5-paned bay of windows framed in metal. The ground floor at this section has rustications and four round-arches of varying widths. The center portion of the north elevation ground floor has bright blue-painted pilasters, with the building wall deeply recessed behind them.

On the Church Street side, the base is divided into two shorter floors, with cornices across the top of both, and rustications on the ground floor. There is a rather curiously-placed mechanical unit atop this facade, visible from the street. The main residential entrance is on Murray Street, below a large rounded-arch lintel. Blue-painted pilasters frame the storefronts on either side of the entrance. The section of the floor directly above the entrance has a wide, 5-paned window. A portion of the ground floor is occupied by One Art Space, Affina Beauty & Spa, and Downtown Florist.
