 apartment building, 1896_construction

7-story Neo-classical residential building completed in 1896. Designed by Cleverdon & Putzel as a store, along with its neighbors 60 & 64 Grand Street. It has narrow, white cast-iron pilasters at the ground floor, with tan brick above. There are four windows per floor, divided by narrow, white cast-iron pilasters. The top floor of No. 62 provides a strong central emphasis for the three-building group with a central triangular pediment perched on two capped brackets above projecting brick pilasters. The spandrels between floors are decorated by carved bands with circular rope-motifs and dentils below the connected window sills. The ground floor is occupied by Yaso New York women's apparel.
