 Romanesque (architecture), apartment building, 1888_construction

5-story Romanesque-revival residential building completed in 1888. Designed by M.L. Ungrich, it is clad in red brick above a dark green-painted cast-iron ground floor. The facade spans six bays, but the three southern bays are spaced closer together. The 3rd floor windows are round-arched, with headers of alternating red and black brick below stone. There are corbelled brick panels in the spandrels between each floor, and various horizontal brick or stone band courses and string courses across the facade. The building is crowned by a bracketed metal roof cornice with modillions and dentils. A red-painted metal fire escape runs down the right side of the facade. The ground floor is occupied by Hundred Acres restaurant and bar.
