5-story Neo-Grec residential building completed in 1875. Designed by A.H. Blankenstein as a tenement, the 4-bay-wide building is nearly identical to those directly to its south (141-145 Sullivan), with a few key differences. The brick is gold instead of red, the first-story storefront more closely resembles its original character (excepting the large plate-glass window), and the rooftop cornice is missing. The windows have elaborate moldings and footed sills, peaked pediments on the 2nd floor, and a black metal fire escape runs down the center two bays. The ground floor is occupied by Sullivan Nails, and Wendy Nichol Studio.
