80 Franklin Street

USA / New Jersey / Hoboken / Franklin Street, 80
 apartment building, 1860s construction

5-story residential building completed in 1868. Designed by Samuel A. Warner as a store-and-loft building, it is identical to its two neighbors, 76 & 78 Franklin, all built at the same time. The facade designs show elements of the Italiante and Second Empire styles. The ground floors have Corinthian columns, and the upper-floor windows are segmental-arched. A bracketed roof cornice crowns the facade. The marble-faced buildings also have historic fire escapes above the first story. This building's first story was altered in 1934.
