5-story Italianate residential building completed in 1859 as a store-and-loft building. Designed by King & Kellum, it has a grey-painted cast-iron ground floor with a pair of fluted columns and pilasters, capped by a dentiled cornice. The upper floors are faced in cream-colored marble, three bays wide, and consisting of two tiers of double-height "sperm-candle" arcades, culminating in round-arches. The center arch at each of the two culminations has a scrolled keystone. Within each tier, floors are divided by carved spandrels. A corbel table supports the modillioned marble cornice with large modillions and end brackets.

The Cortlandt Alley elevation is faced in red brick with stone sills and lintels above the ground floor and has a double-height base with black cast-iron bay framing. Fireproof shutters and a historic iron fire escape are present. A simple cornice with brick dentils caps the elevation.

Throughout the late 19th century, the building housed salesrooms and offices, as well as manufacturing space. At the turn of the 20th century, Naething Brothers operated a bakery and lunchroom on the first floor. In the mid-late 1900s it housed an import/export company. Today, the ground floor is occupied by Eden Day Spa, with rental apartments above.
