5-story Italianate residential building completed in 1860. Designed by James H. Giles as two separate store-and-loft buildings. The L-shaped building at 177 Church/78 Reade was linked internally with the corner building at 80 Reade in 1911. The L-shaped section is closer in design to the neighboring buildings to the east than the corner building, although both facades have been painted red. The L-shaped section is clad in marble, with segmental-arched windows and lintels, except for the top floor, which are round-arched. The windows also have molded stone heads and sills.

The corner building section is clad in brick on the upper floors, with segmental-arched windows on the 3rd & 4th floors. The 2nd & 5th floor have round-arched windows. Stone springers, sill courses, and molded window heads further mark the design. Both building facades are capped by black metal roof cornices. The combined ground floor has dark-grey cast-iron Corinthian columns. A black iron fire escape runs down the east end of the Reade facade, with two more fire escapes on the western facades.

The building is currently commercial at the first story, and residential above. The ground floor is occupied by Mocca restaurant, Body Work massage, and Express Shoe Repair.
