Established in October 1960, Moranbong (Peony Hill) District is the location of the Moran Hill Park, as well as offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Around the park, which includes a combination of Korean pavilions and fort towers, tributes to the Soviets and Chinese and several restaurants and theaters, is the Triumphal Arch dedicated to Kim Il Sung.
