Building constructed in 1910, the first floor of this building used to house Farmers & Merchants State Bank (May 17, 1922 [originally located at 741 Superior Street]-February 26, 1944 [relocated to 201 Broadway on March 1, 1944 after merging with Kilbourn State Bank on January 5, 1944]), furniture store John Art Furniture (September 19, 1946-September 1947), restaurants Dells Cafeteria/Tim Draper's Dells Cafeteria/Draper's Dells Cafeteria/Draper's Cafeteria/Draper Cafeteria (1948-mid 1983RM), Peppermill/The Peppermill (c. July 1983RM-1986TD), Impressions (1986TD-early 1990's), cheese shop Cheesehouse/Cheese House/Wisconsin Dells Cheesehouse/Wisconsin Dells Cheese House (c. August 12, 2000PB-c. late 2004PB), and gift shop Dandelion (June 2005DC [originally located at 741 Oak Street {the rear end of this building}-late 2010DC {High Rock Cafe expanded into this space in late-May 2010DC, months before the gift shop closed]); the second floor of this building (232½ Broadway) used to house a law office/attorney J.F. Dougherty (c. 1922-April 1933 [relocated to the Wenkman Building at 321½ Broadway {2nd floor of the building}]), osteopathy physician's office Dr. Chas. E. April 3, 1924), construction agency Max Fisch Construction Co. (early 1920's-c. late 1920's), Dufour-U-Beauty Shop/Do-For-U (July 19, 1922-c. late March 1924 [relocated to 211½ Broadway {2nd floor of the building} and reopened in early-April 1924]), watch and clock repair center George Marlow (c. mid-May 1925-c. early 1930's), tailoring and alteration service center Mrs. Mary S. Alex (March 1926-late-April 1931 [relocated softly to the Procknow Building at 741½ Oak Street {2nd floor of the building {rear end of this building}} and opened on mid-March 1931]), insurance agencies Mulligan & Tofson (until early 1930's), H.M. Spring 2008DC), and coffeehouse Pause/Pause Coffee House/The Pause Coffeehouse (early-October 2008DC-early 2010DC); the second floor of the rear end of this building (741½ Oak Street) used to house tailoring and alteration service center Mrs. Mary S. Alex ([later shared with Savidusky's Cleaners and Dyers] mid-March 1931 [originally located at 232½ Broadway {2nd floor of this building}]-early-July 1934 [relocated to 901 Broadway]), dry cleaning service center Savidusky's Cleaners and Dyers/Savidusky's Exclusive Cleaners and Dyers/Savidusky's, Inc./Savidusky's (mid-April 1932-c. Fall 1934), tailoring and alteration service center Miss Laura Schoeninger ([space shared with Savidusky's Cleaners and Dyers] early-July 1934-c. 1935), church/dedication service center Fellowship Prayer Mission (May 30, 1944-c. late 1944), law office Hans O. Helland (early-December 1950 [also occupied portions of the second floor of this main building at 232½ Broadway]-late-March 1955 [relocated to the Grieger Building at 739 Oak Street {next door south from here}] and reopened in early-April 1955), social services organization Central Wisconsin Community Action Council (c. early 1968SC [originally located at the Co-Op Building at 130 Washington Avenue {currently The Sand Bar}]-late November 1969GL [relocated to 211 Wisconsin Avenue]), insurance agency William B. Van Wie (late 1971SC [originally located at 216½ Broadway {2nd floor of the building}]-late-August 1974RM [relocated to the Co-Op Building at 132 Washington Avenue {2nd floor of the building {entire building currently The Sand Bar} and reopened in early-September 1974RM]), and palm and tarot card reading center Mrs. Miller/Mrs. Marie (May 1976RM-late 1976RM).

The second floor of this building was remodeled in Spring 1983RM by adding window walls on both north and east sides of the building and two skylights on the ceiling, transforming it into a greenhouse atmosphere. Upper Crust and its owner Dennis Draper were the tenants during that time. The window walls provide a panoramic view of downtown Wisconsin Dells. It also provides solar heat, especially during the fall and winter months. Heat comes through the skylights as well.

This entire building including the one next door south from here (741 Oak Street) were converted into a two-story restaurant building in May 2010DC. It used to house a modern American cuisine restaurant High Rock Cafe/Cafe Highrock/Cafe High Rock from Memorial Day, May 31, 2004PB (began on the second floor of this building before expanding into the first floor and even into the building next door south from here [741 Oak Street] in late-May 2010DC) until it's closure on February 28, 2026. The current bulding is now a Madison-based Indian restaurant, opened on April Fools Day, April 1, 2026. This is the third location in Wisconsin after Madison and Sun Prairie, and fourth location in the Midwest (Dubuque, Iowa was the third location).
