 interesting place, apartment building

4-story residential building originally completed in 1854 as three separate houses, which were combined around 1900. The wedge-shaped facade is clad in orange brick above street-level storefronts, and is topped by a modillioned roof cornice. There is a metal fire escape on the right half of the Greenwich Avenue facade. The ground floor is occupied by Copy Com copy/mailing center, Elixir Juice Bar, and West Village Florist.

The West Village Florist's location has been theorized as not being the exact location of Edward Hopper's painting "Nighthawks" but the probable inspiration for it which was artistically interpreted. At one point, it was a restaurant.
