4-story Italianate-style residential building completed around 1840 as a townhouse for John Q. Aymar who was a founder of a clipper ship company. In 1859, they moved to No. 102 Fifth Avenue and sold the Broadway house to the East River Bank, which had been founded seven years earlier on Third Avenue. The bank continued to own and occupy the building until 1920. Afterwards, the upper floors were occupied by small manufacturing firms, and later housed joint living/working quarters.

The facade is three bays wide, clad in beige marble above a black cast-iron and pressed metal storefront (probably dating from 1920). The storefront is crowned by paneled fascia and a modified bracketed and denticulated galvanized-iron cornice. The 2nd-floor windows are taller than those on the two floors above. The facade is topped by a black iron bracketed roof cornice with paneled frieze. The rear elevation has a 2-story extension at the alleyway, covered with cement stucco.

The ground floor is occupied by Lighting Plus.
