FIFTY Franklin

185-foot, 18-story modernist residential building completed in 2009. Designed by Ed Rawlings, it has a ground floor of grey stone, glass and silver metal, capped by a broad band of white brick, with a garage door at the east end. The upper floors are clad in silver metal and reflective glass, with alternating bays deeply recessed. There are glassed-in balconies projecting out just past the building line from the recessed bays at the 4th, 6th, 8th & 10th floors. Above the 11th floors is a setback, with projecting balconies on the left side only at the 13th & 14th floors, and wider balconies at the 15th & 16th floors. There is another setback above the 16th floor. The building has 72 condominium units.
