13-story postmodern residential building completed in 2002 for TKS Group, a developer. Designed by Costas Kondylis & Partners and Richard Dattner & Associates, it has facade on both 14th and 15th streets, with a courtyard in between. The complex contains 201 rental apartments. It has a very long frontage along both streets, with a roof line that has two squared-off peaks. On 15th Street the facade is clad in orange brick, with stripes of white stone on the ground floor. This facade is shorter, rising up to 5 floors, with a paired section of projecting bay windows near either end that reaches 7 floors, and another central section of four bays of projecting windows also reaching the 7th floor.

On 14th Street the ground floor is clad in white stone, with the upper floors in grey aluminum spandrels and glass, alternating with recessed sections of orange brick, rising to the full 13 floors. The ground floor is occupied by The McBurney YMCA.

The Sierra was originally to be named Armory Place, since it replaced the 1971 Ninth Regiment Armory, which in turn replaced the magnificent 1896 castle-like structure designed by W. E. Cable and E. A. Sargent.
