Established and activated in November 1990 as a short-range radar site in the BAR Sector of the North Warning System, the BAR-DA1 or Liverpool Bay site is a fully autonomous station equipped with AN/FPS-124 radar systems. The station is controlled by the PIN-Main site at Cape Parry to the East and is accessible for service and resupply by helicopter only.
