Designed by Horace Trumbauer c. 1932 as the New York branch of the prestigious Wildenstein & Co. art gallery. Modeled after a Parisian townhouse, the building conforms to the residential setting of the area. The windows--which were used to display old master paintings--are the hint to passerbys of its use.
