"Bogdan" is a managed nature reserve with Ordinance № 775 from 29.03.1972 by the Ministry of Forestry and Environmental Protection.
Area: 113.4 hectares.
Bogdan is a reserve in mountain Sredna Gora. It covers the ridge and the highest parts of the Sashtinska Sredna Gora around the peak of Golyam Bogdan (Big Bogdan). It was established to protect the beech forests that grow in the area. The average age of these forests is 150 years. The reserve is later maintained as a maintained reserve.
