Bukit Jambul, abbreviated as BJ, is a neighbourhood within the city of George Town. Located within the Bayan Lepas suburb, BJ is located approximately 10.3km southwest of the city centre. BJ is named after one of the hills at this hilly area.
BJ experienced rapid development following the establishment of the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone (Bayan Lepas FIZ) in 1972. It is home to the Penang Golf Club, George Town's sole golf course. The Bukit Jambul Complex is the oldest shopping mall within the entire Bayan Lepas suburb. It now caters mostly to foreign workers residing within its vicinity. A campus of INTI International College, a major Malaysian private university, is also situated within BJ.
