Bandar Sri Pinang is a township within the city of George Town. Located within the Jelutong suburb, Bandar Sri Pinang is located approximately 2 km south of the city centre.
Bandar Sri Pinang was built on reclaimed land by IJM, a major Malaysian construction firm. Construction works at Bandar Sri Pinang were completed by 2008. In 2014, the seafront promenade was renamed Karpal Singh Drive, after the late Member of Parliament (MP) for Jelutong.
Today, Karpal Singh Drive, where the Automall is situated, has become one of George Town's popular seaside promenades. This affluent neighbourhood is also home to the Wesley Methodist International School.
