New bridge built to replace the original decrepit structure; carries Interstate 278 (Brooklyn-Queens Expressway) over the English Kills. The eastbound span opened to bi-directional traffic on April 27th, 2017; the original bridge adjacent to it was officially closed a few days later and was demolished on October 1 2017. The westbound span, built on the original bridge's footprint, opened to traffic on August 29th, 2019.
