4-story residential building originally completed in 1853 as a townhouse for James Lenox who was one of the founders of the New York Public Library (his mansion was located to the south). It was later owned by William H. Osborn who was one of the influential philanthropists in New York City.

It was remodeled into apartments in 1938, with further renovations in 1990 and 2012. It is three bays wide, with the northern two bays of the lower two floors faced in smooth stucco and painted yellow, having a large plate-glass show window at the ground floor, and two narrow windows on the 2nd floor. To the right, a simple doorway is framed in purple smooth stucco, with a multi-paned window above. The rest of the facade is faced in white stucco. The 3rd-floor windows have dark-green metal cornices, and the facade is crowned by a dark-green metal roof cornice with four scrolled brackets, panels and dentils. The base is occupied by Merci Market.
