apartment building, 1850s construction, Italianate style (architecture)
5-story Anglo-Italianate residential building completed in 1855 for John H. McCunn, a successful Irish lawyer. It is clad in orange brick above a rusticated brownstone base with round-arched window and doorway. The 2nd and 3rd floors have square-headed brownstone window enframements, while the top two floors are round-arched with keystones. Each floor's windows are shorter than those below. The roof cornice has four large brackets - one at either end and two paired brackets in the center - with fields between the brackets decorated with raised panels.
