10-story cooperative-apartment building completed in 1901. Designed by John B. Snook & Sons, it has exceptionally high stories for the first two floors, reflected in the height of the double-windows, arranged in five bays. These two stories are constructed of rock-faced ashlar with handsome stone panels beneath the first floor windows. At third floor level, a stone balcony, carried on carved console brackets with ornamental wrought iron balcony railing, runs the entire width of the building, effecting the transition from the stone below to Roman brick above. Similar full width balconies are repeated at the sixth and ninth floors, with a number of small individual balconies of similar design at certain windows of the intermediate floors. The top story is set back between the sidewalls, which are carried up and surmounted by cap stones.

The central entrance has a short stoop, and a metal awning suspended by chains. The building was originally built by George A. Hearn, a department store magnate who was Macy's chief rival, as a residence for his executives.
