4-story Greek-revival residential building originally completed in 1841 as a townhouse for Thomas McKie, a lumber merchant. It has been remodeled to provide a high, north light studio at fourth floor level. The windows at the top floor have been combined to form a triple sash, while a high steep copper roof surmounts the house, with the large steel sash dormer for the studio. The three bays of windows on the lower floors have flat brownstone sills and lintels. The recessed doorway is framed by black-painted pilasters, with a larger pair of brownstone pillars and entablature framing the entrance, atop a stoop.
