4-story Italianate residential building completed in about 1850 as a townhouse. It has a painted ashlar facade and the original bracketed metal cornice. Stucco has been recently applied over a storefront at the first and basement stories which was added for commercial use. A stoop in the eastern bay, a replacement for the original, leads from the sidewalk to the first floor. Two metal-frame single-pane replacement windows appear at the basement and 1st floors in bays corresponding to the three symmetrical bays of the original design and still in evidence above the 1st floor. Remnants of arched stone hood molds and window enframements are visible at the 2nd & 3rd floors. The 4th-floor windows are square-headed. A black metal fire escape runs down parts of the facade, which is topped by a black metal bracketed roof cornice.

The building was originally a 4-story dwelling with basement, and was in residential use until 1890. In 1908, the front wall of the basement and 1st floor were replaced with a new show window. In 1975, the show window was filled in. The ground floor is currently occupied by Salon Jatel.
