4-story Greek-revival residential building completed in 1836 as a house. By 1880, it had become a boardinghouse owned by Frederick Bornhagen, a restaurant keeper from Prussia, who had 11 boarders. For most of the 20th century, it was occupied by small businesses. By the mid-1960s, the building had again become residential.

The 4-bay wide facade is clad in dark red painted brick, with painted wood and metal infill at the 1st floor. There is a small sandstone stoop on the right side, and an iron railing around the basement areaway. The basement has three windows in a black cast-iron frame. The 1st floor has two windows offset to the left, with a black wooden cornice above them. The upper floors windows have black cornices at the 2nd & 3rd floors; the top floor has short attic windows below a black wooden roof cornice. A black iron fire escape runs down the left two-thirds of the facade.
