170-foot, 12-story residential building completed in 1898. Designed by Robert Maynicke as a narrow 3-bay mercantile building, it is faced in buff-colored brick and terra-cotta. The 2-story base is framed in limestone, with rusticated piers framing the brown cast-iron facade. They are each topped by a small cartouche, and a modillioned cornice runs above the base. The upper floors have horizontal bands on the brick piers, with the windows recessed between them. There are cornices above the 3rd, 6th, 7th & 10th floors, with Corinthian capitals at the piers at each of the upper cornices. The 3rd and 7th floors are set off from the other floors, and have four equally spaced windows. The 3-story sections above these two floors have the outer windows recessed and the two center windows projected forward, all framed in cast-iron, and with dentil courses between the floors. The top floor has round-arched windows, above a projecting stone cornice supported by brackets, and the building is crowned by a projecting metal roof cornice. The rear of the building on Crosby Street is clad in simple buff-colored brick. The ground floor is occupied by a Duane Reade pharmacy.
