5-story Romanesque-revival residential building originally completed in 1837. It was reduced it size and given a new facade in 1891 after the street was widened for the Sixth Avenue El. The new design was by Brunner & Tryon for the H.H. Uphma & Co. sign-making business. It is clad in ironspot Roman brick with a large 3-story round-arch spanning the 2nd-4th floors. A pair of bronze medallions bearing the dates 1858 and 1891 (for the founding of the company and the completion of the facade) are located outside the top of the arch. Above a small cornice, the top floor has three individual round-arched windows with keystones.

H. H. Upham & Co. continued to create signs from No. 508 LaGuardia Place until the end of the 1950s. The building was used for various commercial and warehouse uses until it was renovated to residential space several decades later. The ground floor is occupied by Arriconi Woods European wood collection.
