6-story Renaissance-revival residential building originally completed as two buildings - one in 1896, designed by Franklin Baylies, and the earlier one, designed four years earlier by John C. Burne - both with identical designs (now combined). 345 Greenwich is vertically divided into three parts. The 1-story base has grey cast-iron piers and cornice, topped by a fixed metal awning which is continuous across the facade. The three floors above the base are clad in tan brick framed by continuous pilasters with partial fluting and capitals which support a wide band course. A broad band of foliate ornament separates the 2nd & 3rd floors. The top two stories are flanked by plain pilasters, the 6th floor having round-arched windows. A paneled brick cornice with end posts crowns the facade.
This building originally had cold storage facilities on the 3rd floor. Beginning in 1919, this building, along with No. 347, was leased by the Phoenix Cheese Company, later the Kraft-Phoenix Cheese Company. This company purchased the two properties in 1925, after having bought the property to the north (349 Greenwich Street) in 1924. In 1943 most of the lots on this blockfront were sold to the Bazzini family. The Bazzini Brothers Company, processors and distributors of dried fruits and nuts, was begun in 1886. It moved its operations to this area in 1968. This building served as a warehouse for the company until it was converted to residential around 2000.
