gym / gymnasium - sports, apartment building, 1989_construction
11-story residential and mercantile building completed in 1989. Designed by Rothzeid, Kaiserman, Thomson & Bee, the building’s façade along Greenwich Street steps down to the north to match the cornice line of the adjacent building. It is clad in dark red brick above a limestone ground floor. The building has a chamfered northwest corner with wrap-around windows. Many of the windows on the two main facades have small, squared, metal balconies with green iron railings. All the windows have concrete sills and some have air conditioning vents below. Reade House contains 80 apartment units. The ground floor is occupied by New York Sport Club, and Koh's Kids toy store.
