Sonegaon Lake (Nagpur)

This is a historical lake from the Bhosle era.The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is yet to realize the importance of water bodies. This is evident from the laid back attitude of the civic body with regard to Sonegaon lake's acquisition proposal.The present owners, Dr Rekharani Bhiwapurkar and Dr Sudha Sutariya, both of whom expressed their willingness to hand over the lake to the NMC subject to compensation.

  • hey this lake is full of water now, fire brigade is out at the lake filling tanks and pushing wter towards nearby drainages so that it does not overflow....
