The only 24-hour operational airport in central India.
It has international connections to Sharjah and Bangkok. Domestic destinations include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. A big Cargo Hub and Boeing's aircraft maintenance unit will become part of this airport in the future. The airport is identified as an ideal location for a multi-transport system envisaged by the ICAO due to the proximity of a National Highway and Railway line near the airport. Though situated in Sonegaon, the nearest township to the airport is Somalwada.
