5-story Italianate residential building completed in the 1870s. The ground floor has cream-colored, fluted cast-iron columns (rounded in the center and squared at the ends) with Corinthian capitals, supporting a black cast-iron cornice. The storefront infill is also painted black. The upper floors are clad in stone, with quoins at the edges. The windows are round-arched, and have stone sills with corbelled feet. The 2nd-floor windows have scrolled keystones, and the windows above have blocked moldings, with keystones at the 3rd floor. A black iron fire escape runs down the left two-thirds of the facade, which is topped by a black metal roof cornice with four scrolled brackets. The ground floor is occupied by the U.S. Army Recruiting Center, the lower Manhattan recruiting office of the U.S. Army.
