"Sokolata" Reserve has been established with Ordinance No.115 from 18.02.1985 by the Committee for Environmental Protection at the Council of Ministers with area of 219.59 hectares. Its purpose is to protect the only century-old forest of Hungarian oak in the mountain
The Hungarian oak in the reserve is over 250 years old. There are also single beech and winter-oak trees. Representatives of the animal wildlife are the wild boar, roe, gray wild rabbit, fox, wolf, rock and field partridge, etc.
