Ogden Union Station was the hub of transcontinental rail traffic for over 50 years. Today the grand old depot, built in 1924, houses museums and galleries featuring railroad history, firearms, gems and minerals, classic cars and the arts. The Union Station is also the home of a restaurant, model train shop, large and small meeting rooms and a satellite police station.
Amtrak provided passenger train service to Ogden on the Union Pacific Railroad line with the Pioneer. The train, which connected Denver and Seattle, was canceled during May 1997.
