5-story Renaissance-revival residential building completed in 1895. It is clad in orange brick with brownstone trim. The ground floor is painted black at the west half of the south facade, and has a black metal-and-glass storefront on the west facade facing the avenue.

Although it uses an Tenth Avenue address, the round-arched main residential entrance is on 43rd Street, a little right of center. It has a glass-and-metal door, sidelights, and fanlight set in a brownstone surround, atop a set of four stone steps. An iron fence encloses the entry, as well as the basement areaway to the east. To the right of the entrance are four single-windows with corresponding basement windows. To the left, the black-painted section has three single-windows, a narrow glass door atop a stone step (into the commercial space), and two more single-windows, followed by a short return of the storefront at the west end; a black metal cornice caps the storefront.

The upper floors of the south facade have a west end bay of single-windows, followed to the east by two single-windows, another single-window set apart, four grouped single-windows, a set-apart single-window, and four more single-windows at the east end. The 2nd floor is banded in brownstone and has a brownstone string course across the top. There are brownstone sill courses at the 3rd & 5th floors. The windows have brownstone sill and lintels, with keystones at the 2nd & 3rd floors. There is a lintel course across the 5th floor instead of individual lintels. Two pairs of slightly-projecting brick shafts frame the two set-apart window bays beginning at the base of the 3rd floor, where they spring from carved brownstone bases; they also have decorative brownstone panels between the 3rd & 4th floors, and trios of vertical brick notches at the 5th floor.

The upper floors of the west facade have four bays of single-windows with the same pattern of ornament. The ground-floor storefront is occupied by Mr. Biggs bar.
