239-foot, 26-story mid-century modern residential building completed in 1977. Designed by Philip Birnbaum & Associates, the building is roughly L-shaped, clad in beige brick. The main entrance is on 27th Street, with a white marble surround enclosing a glass wall with a revolving door and two traditional glass doors. To the left the ground floor has no openings, but there are thin, vertical bands of black stone. To the right is the entrance to the underground parking garage. The upper floors have a center bay of triple-windows, with a double-window bay and two more triple-windows to either side. There are black metal air-conditioning vents below each window bay.
The ground floor along the avenue is lined with metal-and-glass storefront bays. Above the ground floor the middle section of the east facade projects out, supported on six rectangular, brick-clad piers. The upper floors have three bays of triple-windows in the projecting middle section. The south section has two double-window bays, a wide bay of five windows (although a black metal metal panel replacing the glass in the 2nd-to-southernmost pane), another double-window bay, and a single-window bay. The north section of the east facade is a mirror-image of the south. The north- and south-facing side walls of the projecting middle section both have a double-window bay.
The south facade on 26th Street has more storefront space on the ground floor, and the upper floors have five bays alternating double- and triple-windows. To the west, the south-facing facade of the west wing back by 27th Street has a double-window, a triple-window, a single-window, another double-window, a narrower single-window, and a projecting bay at the connection between the main wings.
The west facade on the main wing faces a plaza that the building wraps around. The upper floors here have a double-window, a triple-window, another double-window, two triple-windows, two double-windows, and three single-windows at the south end, which projects out a littler farther than the rest. The west facade of the west wing on 27th Street has a double-window bay, and three single-windows.
The building contains 325 apartment units. The ground floor along the avenue is occupied by a Duane Reade by Walgreens.
