Horse Hollow I Wind Energy Center is a wind farm located in the 'highlands' southeast of Sweetwater and southwest of Abilene, Texas. The three 'Horse Hollow' wind farms run west-southeast thru the center of that area and 'HH1' is on the southeast side, on both sides of US Highway 277. Commissioned in 2005, it consisted of 142 GE Energy 1.5sle wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 213 MW.
In 2017, the turbines' blades were upgraded, converting the 77 meter (diameter) rotors to 87 meters (but leaving the generating capacity unchanged), thus making them model 1.5-87.
