A four-lane swing bridge connecting upper Manhattan with the south Bronx. Construction on the original bridge began in 1901, and the $2.75 million bridge was opened in 1905. The designer was Alfred Pancoast Boller. A new swing span for the bridge was assembled in the former Powell & Minnock Brick Yard in Coeymans, NY, and the span was replaced in 2006.
