Holland House' as was designed c. 1922 by noted architect Aymar Embury, II as a country home for Maxwell Stevenson. Embury would later go on to design many of the university's buildings. After Hofstra University purchased the estate property in 1946, they used the old Stevenson home as an Admissions Building.
